What happens when children take the stories they read and turn them into real-world experiences? At MIIS Child’s Place Preschool Literacy Night, books became more than pages to read. They became classrooms to create, cultures to discover, performances to share, and memories to make together.
Held at the MIIS School of the Future at Parklinks on October 17, our annual Literacy Night brought together MIIS families and, for the first time, families from our neighboring communities for an afternoon celebrating reading, imagination, and the joy of learning.

At Multiple Intelligence International School (MIIS), we believe that meaningful learning goes beyond memorizing facts or completing activities in the classroom. Children learn best when they can apply their knowledge, express their ideas, collaborate with others, and connect what they learn to the world around them.
This year’s Literacy Night brought that philosophy to life.
Each Child’s Place Preschool class explored a storybook and the culture behind it, culminating their learning through the creative transformation of their classrooms. Students contributed projects and displays inspired by their books, incorporating what they had learned about the stories, traditions, and cultures they explored.
These classroom transformations were also a collaborative effort with parents, who worked alongside the school to help bring the children’s learning to life. By participating in the process, families became active partners in their children’s education, helping create an experience that was both meaningful and memorable.
This is what progressive preschool education looks like at MIIS: children are encouraged to explore their interests, express their creativity, work with others, and turn ideas into something tangible. Through purposeful, play-based learning, even a storybook can become a starting point for cultural awareness, critical thinking, and real-world discovery.

Throughout the afternoon, our young learners shared their appreciation for different cultures through special class performances inspired by the storybooks they studied.
From Nigeria and Mexico to the Philippines and Malaysia, each performance reflected the stories, traditions, and cultural discoveries explored in the classroom. These presentations gave our preschoolers an opportunity to express themselves, build confidence, and share what they learned with their families.
Guests also enjoyed an interactive storytelling session with Rey Bufi, who introduced children and families to his new book, Saan Sann. Through engaging storytelling, he encouraged our young readers to use their imagination and discover the magic of bringing a story to life.
These experiences demonstrate how a love for reading can nurture much more than literacy. It can also help children develop communication skills, cultural appreciation, creativity, and confidence in expressing themselves.

For many of our students and families, the highlight of Literacy Night was finally stepping into the classrooms they had helped create.
Families explored their own classrooms and visited other story rooms, discovering the books, projects, and cultural details behind each design. Along the way, children collected treats during our Trick-or-Treat activity, making the experience even more exciting for our little explorers.
More than a Halloween celebration, this was an opportunity for children to take pride in their work, share their discoveries with their families, and see how their ideas contributed to a larger collaborative project.
For parents, it was a chance to witness their children’s learning in action. Rather than simply hearing about what happens in school, they could see the results of their children’s curiosity, creativity, and collaboration firsthand.
At Child’s Place Preschool, we believe that learning should be engaging, purposeful, and joyful. Experiences like Literacy Night allow children to learn through play while developing the skills and confidence they need to navigate the world around them.

This year’s Literacy Night was especially meaningful as MIIS celebrated its new home at Parklinks after 29 years in Katipunan, Quezon City. For the first time, we opened this annual celebration to families from our neighboring villages and condominiums, welcoming them to experience MIIS beyond the classroom.
Our community guests had the opportunity to participate in a fun family activity to discover their different intelligences, tour our new campus, visit the transformed classrooms, and learn more about our educational philosophy and programs.
We were delighted to share how MIIS nurtures the unique strengths of every child through a progressive, child-centered approach to education. Grounded in the Multiple Intelligences framework, our learning experiences recognize that every child has different ways of understanding, creating, communicating, and connecting with the world.
For families exploring progressive international preschools in Pasig, Literacy Night offered a glimpse into how a nurturing school environment can make learning meaningful, encourage curiosity, and help children develop a lifelong love for discovery.
As we continue to grow our community at Parklinks, we look forward to building lasting relationships with our neighbors and welcoming more families into the MIIS experience.

A special thank you to ALVEO and Ayala Land Premier for helping make Literacy Night even more memorable for our guests.
Through treats for our children and an exciting face-painting experience, our partners added extra fun to the celebration. They also helped families discover the exciting properties and developments within the Parklinks estate, giving our guests a better understanding of the vibrant community that MIIS now calls home.
We are grateful for partners who share our commitment to creating enriching experiences for children and families and helping build a connected, thriving community.
To our teachers, students, parents, guests, and partners, thank you for making Child’s Place Preschool Literacy Night 2026 a celebration filled with stories, creativity, cultural discovery, and meaningful connections.
