From January 5 to 9, 2026, students from Multiple Intelligence International School (MIIS) proudly represented the Philippines at Harvard Model Congress Asia (HMCA) in Tokyo, Japan—one of the most prestigious international relations conferences for high school students. This global academic experience immersed our learners in high-level debate, policy-making, and diplomacy, reinforcing MIIS’ commitment to future-ready education, global citizenship, and real-world learning.
Through rigorous preparation and active participation, our delegates stepped into the roles of legislators, diplomats, and policymakers. They tackled pressing global and national issues while strengthening essential 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, research, collaboration, public speaking, and global awareness—skills that are honed in our MIIS students.

Each MIIS student was assigned to a specific committee and role, requiring extensive research, policy analysis, and sustained engagement throughout the conference. Elijah Angeles served in the House Select Committee on Intelligence as Joaquin Castro (TX-20), while Robert Simon represented Ann Wagner (MO-02) in the same committee. Travis Lopez participated in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee as Steve Daines (MT-SR).
In the World Health Organization, Kiara Fabi represented Indonesia and Li Toni Sua represented the United States of America. Raymond Sanvictores served as Vietnam in the United Nations Security Council, Angela Galang represented the United Kingdom in COP 30, and Gabriel Benedict Viola represented China in the G20.
Across these diverse committees, students engaged in meaningful debate, resolution drafting, and collaboration that closely mirrored real-world legislative and diplomatic processes.

MIIS is proud to celebrate Elijah Angeles for earning two of the conference’s most distinguished recognitions in the House Select Committee on Intelligence—the Best Delegate Award and the Presidential Cabinet Award. Being named Best Delegate recognized Elijah’s consistently outstanding performance throughout the conference, particularly his ability to collaborate meaningfully and effectively with fellow delegates, contribute strategically to debate, and help guide the committee toward productive and well-reasoned discussions.
In addition, Elijah received the Presidential Cabinet Award for submitting the resolution that best addressed his committee’s assigned issue. Carefully selected by committee chairs based on clarity, feasibility, depth of research, and overall impact, this award highlighted his strong analytical thinking, policy insight, and deep understanding of complex intelligence and national security issues—an achievement that reflects the academic rigor, mentorship, and leadership development fostered at MIIS.

Throughout the five-day conference, MIIS students showed clear growth in confidence and articulation. Delegates actively delivered opening statements, participated in moderated caucuses, presented pro and con speeches, and asked thoughtful, well-researched questions. Their strong presence reflected advanced communication skills and confidence in academic discourse.

Beyond committee sessions, students demonstrated maturity and independence—punctually managing schedules, navigating Tokyo’s public transportation system, and handling personal finances responsibly. Evenings were spent preparing for the next day’s sessions, often collaborating in the hotel library to refine positions and draft resolutions.

Being immersed in Tokyo allowed students to practice cultural sensitivity and adaptability in real-world settings. From navigating a busy global city to respecting local customs and social norms, MIIS students embodied the values of international-mindedness and global citizenship that define a world-class international education.
The Harvard Model Congress Asia 2026 experience was a proud milestone for Multiple Intelligence International School. Our students demonstrated leadership, professionalism, and a deep commitment to thoughtful dialogue—representing MIIS with confidence, integrity, and respect both inside and outside the committee rooms.
As MIIS continues to prepare students for university pathways and global leadership, experiences like HMCA highlight the strength of our international curriculum, experiential learning opportunities, and holistic student development.
With great pride, we congratulate all our HMCA delegates for their dedication and outstanding performance. A special celebration goes to Elijah Angeles, recipient of the Presidential Cabinet Award. Their success is a powerful reflection of how MIIS nurtures globally competent, confident, and future-ready learners—an education we proudly offer to prospective families for School Year 2026–2027.
