Last December 1, the Multiple Intelligence International School (MIIS) brought together an extraordinary showcase of innovation, advocacy, and youthful energy at the Kids Can! #4GreenPH Eco-Bazaar and Thrift Market. Held at Ayala Malls U.P. Town Center, this year’s event drew over a thousand attendees who came to shop, support student-led initiatives, and celebrate the spirit of sustainable entrepreneurship.
The Kids Can! program, an award-winning platform developed by MIIS, champions youth entrepreneurship while promoting the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). With a theme centered on “Leadership for a Sustainable Future,” the 2024 bazaar highlighted how young minds can combine creativity, passion, and purpose to make a positive impact on the world.

Students from 5 to 18 years old contributed to the bazaar’s success, managing 26 vibrant booths that offered a variety of unique and purpose-driven products. Each booth aligned with specific advocacies, ranging from animal welfare and gender equality to indigenous craftsmanship and sustainable living.
Shoppers explored an eclectic range of products from Handwoven bags and clothing supporting indigenous artisans to pre-loved toys encouraging a sustainable lifestyle.

One of the most popular attractions was the Bayong-All-You-Can booth, where visitors purchased handwoven bayongs crafted by women weavers. Shoppers could fill their bayongs with a variety of fresh produce, fruits, and vegetables sourced directly from farmers in Region 2, creating a direct link between local farmers and conscious consumers in Metro Manila.

The day wasn’t just about shopping—it was a celebration of talent, creativity, and advocacy. Shoppers were treated to live performances by MIIS students, which included choreographed dances and musical numbers that spotlighted the SDGs their classes championed. Additionally, sustainability talks inspired audiences with actionable ideas on leading more eco-friendly lives. These performances and talks served as a reminder that sustainability is not just a concept—it’s a call to action that starts with awareness and grows through community support.
For the students, the bazaar was more than just an event—it was a hands-on learning experience in entrepreneurialism. They took charge of their booths, managing finances, marketing their products, and interacting with customers. This experience allowed them to apply lessons from the classroom to real-world scenarios, fostering skills in teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.
Friends, family, and shoppers were thrilled to see the dedication and enthusiasm of the young entrepreneurs. The students’ excitement and commitment were palpable, creating a festive atmosphere that resonated with everyone present.
The success of this year’s Kids Can! Eco-Bazaar highlights the boundless potential of youth to drive meaningful change when empowered with the right platforms and opportunities. As MIIS continues to champion sustainability and leadership, this vision will take a bold new step forward with the upcoming School of the Future campus in Parklinks, set to open for the 2025-26 school year.
The new campus will promises to be a hub for nurturing Leaders for Sustainable Development, equipping students with the skills and mindset needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving global landscape.
“We are excited to open our doors in the new campus for SY 2025-26. Construction is well underway, and we are inviting the business community to get involved in our advocacy of raising the next generation of leaders. This is much needed by the Philippines to be globally competitive and relevant,” shared Ramon Abaquin, MIIS Chairman of the Board.
With this new milestone, MIIS reaffirms its commitment to empowering the next generation of innovators, changemakers, and global citizens. The Kids Can! Eco-Bazaar is just one example of how MI students are leading the way today—and how the School of the Future will amplify these efforts for years to come.
