The young social entrepreneurs of the Multiple Intelligence International School (MIIS) gave the gift of a green future during the holiday season. MIIS, a pioneering institution for youth entrepreneurship, held MI Kids Can! #4GreenPH: An Eco-Bazaar & Thrift Market in partnership with Ayala’s U.P. Town Center, Activity Center, last December 3, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
It was a season of hope to see preschoolers to high school students create innovative products and businesses supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It was the best place to find unique gifts with a story and a cause. It was a shopping experience that reminded us that we all need to be conscious consumers for the sustainability of the world. From first-graders who advocate for Green Forests with their original Save the Animals totes and plant kits, to fifth-graders who advocate for Tawi-tawi mat weavers, bazaar-goers found products that supported a sustainable lifestyle and community. Wear Your Weave booths by MI teenpreneurs reminded us to be proud of our culture and support our indigenous communities. This year’s MI Kids Can! #4GreenPH bazaar was packed with different activities that advocated for a sustainable lifestyle. People found their latest fashion statements in the MI Thrift Market. They also enjoyed the thrift fashion show by humans and fur babies! There was a lot to learn from guests and performances about how to make the world a more sustainable place with every purchase made.
This event supports MIIS’ mission to raise global citizens and leaders of the 21st century. It fosters the youth entrepreneurial spirit and encourages them to think innovatively to create solutions for today’s problems. We teach our students that they are not too young to make a difference. It was a day of celebrating youth entrepreneurship, sustainability, and raising leaders with a heart.
With the call to make a change echoing across nations, MIIS responds to the challenge with one strong voice: Kids Can Make a Difference!
